Product Detail
The Balmoral Victorian Mortice Knob on Latch Plate from Heritage Brass. Crafted from Solid Brass. Round Victorian style door knob with a slim profile back plate. Door Knob for internal doors where locking is 'not' required. This Door Knob is half-sprung and will work with a lightly sprung latch.
Available in 3 further lever functions: Keyhole Lock (57mm centres), Bathroom Lock (57mm centres) and Euro Lock (48mm centres).
Sold as a pair (2 x knobs). Complete with slotted screws for timber doors and 8mm diameter spindle bar (spindle only suitable for a 44mm thick door). If you are replacing an existing Door Knob, this Knob will work with a Standard UK Tubular Latch. For new doors you will also need to purchase a Tubular Latch our reference YKTL3N-AT.
Please note: door to the slim profile of the back plate, a bore hole is required to house spring mechanism and allow the plate to sit flat, thus rendering these Only Suitable for a Door Thickness 44mm and above.
Finish - Antique Brass Lacquered. With russet hues and a brass undertone, this variation on brass retains a warm and mellow character but adds age and maturity by highlighting the variance of shades making each piece both alluring and unique.

Very solid, high quality feel - looks great on our Oak front door. Note that some recesses need to be machined into the door to accept the mechanism behind each door plate - this would be easy enough with the right size large drill bits, but could be trickier where the door has already been previously machined to accept a different handle, as in our case. Well worth the effort for a great-looking, quality handle that looks and feels as if it will last.

Quite fiddley to fit as had to rebate quite a big area for mechanism. Very little room for fingers between door knob and door frame. Ouch!

Product has a quality feel but the slotted brass plated mounting screws supplied were not great.
A steel 'thread cutting' screw is provided to initially cut threads in the wood prior to fitting the softer brass screws (which is good). However, in this day and age can't a PZ head screw be provided to help minimise screwdriver potential slippage when tightening the brass screws?. Small point but just my opinion.
