Product Detail
The Balmoral Victorian Mortice Knob on Latch Plate from Heritage Brass. Crafted from Solid Brass. Round Victorian style door knob with a slim profile back plate. Door Knob for internal doors where locking is 'not' required. This Door Knob is half-sprung and will work with a lightly sprung latch.

Sold as a pair (2 x knobs). Complete with slotted screws for timber doors and 8mm diameter spindle bar (spindle only suitable for a 44mm thick door). If you are replacing an existing Door Knob, this Knob will work with a Standard UK Tubular Latch. For new doors you will also need to purchase a Tubular Latch our reference YKTL3N-MB.
Please note: door to the slim profile of the back plate, a bore hole is required to house spring mechanism and allow the plate to sit flat, thus rendering these Only Suitable for a Door Thickness 44mm and above.
Finish - Matt Bronze Lacquered. An aged finish on brass creating a vintage appearance, yet one that also looks outstanding in contemporary schemes. We try to maintain a similar colour and hue to our finishes, however due to the nature of the finish there may be slight difference in tone. This is a characteristic of this finish, and so finish matches cannot be guaranteed. Product image/colour shown should be used for guidance only. Handle with room scene created using AI. Delivery times are estimate. Although lacquer provides protection, it does not make the finish fully weatherproof, and natural ageing may still occur with outdoor use. Very solid, high quality feel - looks great on our Oak front door. Note that some recesses need to be machined into the door to accept the mechanism behind each door plate - this would be easy enough with the right size large drill bits, but could be trickier where the door has already been previously machined to accept a different handle, as in our case. Well worth the effort for a great-looking, quality handle that looks and feels as if it will last.

Quite fiddley to fit as had to rebate quite a big area for mechanism. Very little room for fingers between door knob and door frame. Ouch!

Product has a quality feel but the slotted brass plated mounting screws supplied were not great.
A steel 'thread cutting' screw is provided to initially cut threads in the wood prior to fitting the softer brass screws (which is good). However, in this day and age can't a PZ head screw be provided to help minimise screwdriver potential slippage when tightening the brass screws?. Small point but just my opinion.
